FOX CUBS v KENT, PREVIEW

LEICESTER Fox Cubs complete their National Development Trophy campaign on Sunday when they host Kent Eagles at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park (7.30pm).

The Fox Cubs have plenty of incentive to finish on a high note as a win and the aggregate point would take them up to runners-up spot in the final NDT table, a position currently occupied by the Eagles.

The reverse fixture at Iwade way back in April ended in a 47-41 Kent win, so the Fox Cubs need to win on Sunday by seven points or more to achieve their target.

But any kind of win on the day will lift Leicester up two places and consign Birmingham to the wooden spoon, with the Fox Cubs having done a fine job to compete with all bar runaway winners King’s Lynn despite their team being put together at a much later date than their opponents.

With five of their team involved in the earlier NDL meeting at Middlesbrough, Leicester will be keen that everyone comes through unscathed on Teesside.

The team news sees Harry Fletcher replace the injured Max Broadhurst at reserve, and he will be joined by youngster Seth Norman as Jordy Loftus has already headed home to Australia.

Kent have Jamie Etherington guesting for the injured Nathan Ablitt, and they are led by former Lion Cubs favourite Vinnie Foord and the experienced Ben Morley.

The meeting will be preceded by the 250cc section of the British Youth Championship, featuring eight races and a Final getting underway at 6pm. Gates open at 4.30pm.

LEICESTER: Will Cairns, Stene Pijper, Ace Pijper, Mason Watson, Freddy Hodder, Harry Fletcher, Seth Norman.

KENT: Vinnie Foord, Luke Harris, Jamie Etherington, Jacob Clouting, Ben Morley, Nathan Hargrave, Charlie Wood.

BRITISH 250cc YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP (6pm): Oli Bovingdon, Kane Newby, Kayden Mundy, Liam Morris, Casper Kluczniak, Emerson Betty, Archie Rolph, Seth Norman.
